Project 18 Update 10/3/19:
Today 1,300 little ones in East Nusa Timur head to school carrying new book bags. This is possible because of our amazing giving community and dedicated team members traveling in field to individually pass out each backpack. Project 18 was an outreach that extended love and blessing into some of the remotest areas ventured by eMite.
In a couple weeks Project 18 Celebration Video will be released and you will see the lives you touched. Stay tuned! #GiveYourMite
Project 18 Insight 9/17/19:
East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) has a population of 5.07 million, and consists of more than 500 islands. The islands are extremely poor. "If the province were a country, it would be one of the poorest in the world. Income per person is one third of the Indonesian average." (devpolicy.org) The average income for a family ranges from $40 to $90 per month.
Many families cannot afford school supplies for their children to attend school. The literacy rate on these islands is lagging behind the rest of Indonesia drastically.
Our team is in field now personally distributing 1,300 book bags to children who can now attend school. This was made possible because of our giving community. Everyone should have the opportunity to receive an education. You are making it possible for 1,300 more kids! Thank you. #GiveYourMite
Project 18 Update 9/12/19:
In just one day our team will be in field to distribute 1,300 book bags to children living in poverty. Book Bag of Blessings projects have been conducted throughout the world bringing joy and hope as children have the doors to education opened up to them.
For just $10 you can join us by providing a fully supplied book bag for a child. Give Your Mite today! #GiveYourMite
Project 18 Insight 9/10/19:
An unprecedented number of children are leaving their homes to become street children in Kupang. Local children from poor and vulnerable Kupang families are working in exploitative and unhealthy employment, and are unable to attend school. Having access to education can drastically change a child’s life!
"Education reduces poverty, boosts economic growth and increases income. It increases a person's chances of having a healthy life, reduces maternal deaths, and combats diseases such as HIV and AIDS. Education can promote gender equality, reduce child marriage, and promote peace. In sum, education is one of the most important investments a country can make in its people and its future.” Global Partnership for Education
Join us today by giving $10 to provide a completely supplied book bag for a child.

Project 18 Update 9/5/19:
We have an update on Project 18- Book Bags of Blessing, South Nusa Islands!
Back in April we began planning this project with our awesome partner organization based in Indonesia. In May, all 1,300 book bags were completed with an eMite logo printed on the front. During that same month items such as stationary, pens, pencils, erasers, toys, and more were added to each backpack. By June the bags were shipped from Jakarta to Kupang city and arrived after one month. It took 91 large sacks to ship all the book bags.
In a little over a week our eMite Team will be infield to show you how your Mite is making an impact! Stay tuned for more updates. #GiveYourMite
