Hey eMiter, You’re So Good Looking
We've got your beauty tip of the day!
Okay, before we get started, and just so you don't think we made this up, this post's background source is a study conducted by Indiana University researchers and referenced in a Science Daily article. According to the article, the results of this study show that "people perceived as more attractive are more likely to give, and givers are seen as more attractive" That is what they said - not us!
So, yes, you look marvelous, eMiters.
Femida Handy, one of the researchers, is quoted in the article, "Although we cannot fully explain why the link between giving behaviors and attractiveness exists, we find remarkable consistency across the three studies." The consistencies referenced are related to people who give, volunteer, and show affection having "higher attractiveness rating."
Nothing is more attractive than a person who helps another in need. Just look at heroes—these everyday people who, in a moment, do extraordinary things. They glow with fulfillment and purpose. No matter their status before the heroic action, they are viewed with adoration after they have acted to help another out.
Sara Konrath, another researcher who conducted the study, says, "people spend significant amounts of money on beauty products and cosmetic surgery to improve their looks, yet it is possible that doing good could help to draw inner beauty to the surface."
